12 days post tax, looking forward to going back onto FEC (am I mad?).

Feel more normal today, I can eat and it doesn't hurt. Went shopping at Asda and had one of their breakfasts (a small one). I forgot to buy a new thermometer. I already have three, and none of them are very reliable!!

Yesterday I went to visit my neighbour who has  lung cancer.It is also in her brain and her bones.

She's had radiotherapy on her head which they hope will sort out the b…

    ...and Misadventures

I was rushed into hospital on Wednesday night (17th April) with a temperature of 38.7c.
Admitted to SRU ward (special receiving unit) in a side room and immediately put on IVs.
Blood test showed that neuts were a big fat zero. Had a sore throat, a mouth full of barbed wire,
and a bum almost as bad.

Every bone in my body ached, throbbed and otherwise made me feel as though I was dying. Couldn't stop shivering, or shaking, or crying (rhyme unintentional).

Four days after first Tax, and I'm feeling really awful. Pains in my back, knees, ankles, feet and toes. Feet also feel swollen and hot and throb a bit. I was prescribed paracetamol and ibuprofen and I've been taking them to help with the pain. Managed to get some sleep last night though, thank goodness.

On the bright side (there is one?) I'm still not having any nausea or sickness and I'm able to eat well. Prefer…

I had an appointment with my oncologist today. She has given me steroids to start tomorrow, in preparation to have my first Docetaxel on Thursday. She also had a chat with me about the possibility of having radiotherapy after chemo. I must be the only person I know who is more scared of radio than chemo. But then I have three more sessions of that to go yet, so things might change.

I was finished so quickly at my appointment…

Well, it's day 6 of Fec 3. I can't seem to stop eating. Chocolate, peanuts, yoghurt, sandwiches, cake.  Anything really. I'm going to have a real weight problem by the time I finish. Still I suppose it's better than being sick all the time and not being able to eat!! Apart from being tired, I'm really not feeling too bad at all. But my eyes aren't focussing properly, and reading is a bit awkward.…
