    Got a letter today from Yorkshire & Humberside Haematology Network to take part in a research study they are doing. Seems they are collecting information from people who develop blood disorders to to find out more about why they occur and what determines response to treatment. Have to consent to blood and tissue samples being used but don't have to have any more done, their leaflet says that they will use what's left…
  • A Lovely Afternoon

    My mum and 6 year old niece came round to see me yesterday afternoon, niece is staying with my mum for a couple of weeks while some issues are sorted out with her mum. Anyway we had a great time and even ended up getting all my old jewellery making bits and pieces out and made her a necklace, she had taken a shine to a large turquoise heart shaped bead that I had.   • 3rd Chemotherapy

    Just got back from having my third cycle of chemotherapy, feel OK apart from sickness which isn't too bad at the moment. My main reaction when having the treatment is to the Cyclophosphamide, I get a pain behind my eyes a bit like headache or sinus pain but luckily this only lasted about 20 minutes this time. Saw consultant who has confirmed I am looking at 8 cycles in total and will have a follow up ct scan after cycle…
  • Appointments OK - had 2nd Chemo Yesterday

    Had my consultant appointment on Monday and as bloods OK could go ahead with 2nd chemo yesterday which went OK. Just had headache as the Cyclophosphamide went in but this was short lived and just feel a bit sick now but have my anti-sickness tablets to fend most of that off. Was given some mouthwash for the ulcers Difflam to use 4 times a day and Nystan to use 2 times a day, hopefully these will sort things out better…
  • Weird but not as bad as I thought

    Well I finally had to give in and shave my head yesterday, hair had been falling out for last 3 days and had gone way too thin for me to do anything else with it. Felt really weird when hair came off....cold too....ran straight into bathroom and locked myself in with wig and scarfs that I had got for when this happened so kids wouldn't see me without hair. Settled on a scarf in the end as felt a bit comfier, head still…
