I actually have an update.....

Less than one minute read time.

Hi everyone, and thanks for the kind messages :)

I went down to the Christie today, and saw one of the main doctors. (Kim)
She agreed it's time they intervened, and they have decided I will be having Vinblastine every 2 weeks, until I get accepted on the trial - then I will stop, and have to be off chemo for a month before I start the trial.
I start next Wednesday.
I've had this drug before, 8 years ago when I first had chemo, but never on it's own.
I've also been put onto steroids again.

I've got multiple new tumours in my neck (both above and below the original ones), and a new one under my arm, just below the original one.
The original one under my arm has grown more than 10 times in size since September.
Not sure about the ones in my chest, as they didn't do an x-ray.

I'll keep you all up to date on whats happening!

  • Hi

Its good to hear that something is finally happening will keep everything crossed for you that you get a quick response re the trial.

I believe vinblastine is similar to vincristine but not as toxic.

    stay strong

    best wishes

Hi Heather, l am glad they are going to get you started on treatment rather than just leave you in no mans land. do you know how long you have to wait for the trial?

    Hope it comes through soon.

    HI Heather

Thank goodness they are finally doing something.

Although the news you have had that the tumours have grown and increased in number isn't what anyone would want to hear at least they are finally dealing with it.

Lets hope the Vinblastine and steroids get things under control.

    Take care and keep fighting

    Jo x

  • Hi Heather,

It is always good to have some sort of action plan - it's bound to give you a focus. I wish you strength.
