Winter Picture Festival - Let's get creating and sharing!

Many of you might remember last year's Winter Picture Festival, where many of you shared pictures of your art, crafts, dogs and beautiful snowy scenes. Across the site, we know many of our members love sharing their creations, photography and paintings. The Winter Picture Festival is a celebration of your creativity, and an opportunity to bring joy to yourself and other members here on the Online Community.

To join in with the Winter Picture Festival, all you need to do is upload a picture in the "Winter Picture Festival" discussion thread. We’ve set up a discussion thread in the “Express Yourself” group.

We’d love to see everyone getting involved using the “Reaction” buttons to let other members know you liked their picture!

It would be lovely see pictures on a winter or festive theme. We're thinking snow, knitted hats, twinkling lights, trees or nature pictures, hot drinks or a fireplace. We always enjoy pictures of furry friends, and we're sure lots of other members do too.

You can find the Winter Picture Festival 2022 below:

Winter Picture Festival Sharing Thread

Why not take a look at our picture galleries from our previous Winter Picture Festival celebrations?

If you’re not sure how to upload a picture, we have a step-by-step guide here in our Help section.

If you'd like to see some inspiration, we've shared some pictures below from previous Winter Picture Festival celebrations:

A highland cow wearing a santa hat     A handmade owl ornament fearing sprigs of holly and snowflakes.

A cosy scene of a fireplace and a Christmas tree, decorated with twinkling lights and red and green ornaments.

A cat playing in some tinsel.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone's winter pictures. We'll be sharing the highlights of the Winter Picture Festival in a blog at the end of the December. If you'd like to take part, please share your photo before 20th December 2022. Although, remember you can share art, crafts and photos all year round here on the Online Community. If you find comfort and joy in creativity, why not join our "Express yourself" group? This is a safe place to share creations, talk about creating and find support.

If you have any questions about the Winter Picture Festival, please remember you can always contact the Community team over email at community@macmillan.org.uk

    1. Sounds like fun!  I live in the desert here in southern Nevada but my golden retriever loves to have her picture taken! Last year I was starting chemo and radiation in late December so didn’t have the time to put up holiday decorations.
I’ve been cancer free since August so this year I’m decking the halls!
  • Sending love and best wishes for the season. I was in hospital after operation, ovarian, last Xmas then finished chemo in May this year.I have always loved Xmas but this year we are letting it pass by as we have had three awful xmas’s. I’m good with that as wouldn’t want all the stress and work leading up to it but I still love the joy of the season Grin

  • Hi

I'm Steph and I'm part of the Community team.

Thank you for your comment, it's great to hear that you're cancer free and looking forward to holiday decorating.

It's always really interesting to hear from our members overseas. Even though you might not have snow in the desert this December, we'd love to see your photos of the holiday season. The Community team love dogs so I'm sure your Golden Retriever would be a popular subject Slight smile

  • Hi

I'm Steph from the Community team. I just wanted to thank you for posting here with your kind wishes.

I was sorry to hear that you've had three awful Christmases, that sounds hard when you've always loved the season. It's important to do what you feel most comfortable with and don't feel pressured into celebrating when you'd rather have a quiet and restful time.

Thank you for sharing your misty garden photograph, the light is beautiful and I can almost feel the frost! I have moved your photograph to the Winter Picture Festival Sharing thread here so everyone can see it. I hope that's ok Slight smile

Please do let us know if you have any questions, or need any help. You can comment again here, or email us at community@macmillan.org.uk

Wishing you a peaceful few weeks and a happy new year.

  • Thank you, to you and all best wishes GrinHeart
