Hi feel like a bit of a fraud on here as I haven't been told I have cancer in waiting on biopsy results but don't know where to turn
Been on HRT for 5 years evorel 75 and utrogestan 100 daily been on this regime for 2 years plus use to be on evorel 50 but noticed the hot sweats coming back so put on 75 im only 49 but went into peri early struggled with not getting periods and also struggled to get periods on the HRT you take when you have a break from progesterone so put on continuous I had a two week daily bleed light dark spotting some clots so went to the Drs I was itchy as well so pressured thrush I was in shock when she put me on a two week cancer referral pathway but still positive I would go they would do a scan if be fine thought it was just mother nature saying I'm not done with you yet went for scan showed 9.8 mm lining tried to do a hyproscopy and biopsy but I passed out as they discovered servear stenosis on cervix so week later they did it under general anesthestic I feel like everything was just coming all at once and now I'm in limbo waiting for the results it's only been a week and the nurse at hospital said it could take four to six weeks for results I'm really trying to remain positive but it's not always easy I want to just cry and say I'm scared but my husband just says no point worrying until you know the result and your gonna be fine I know he's trying to be supportive just don't know where to turn thanks for reading if you got to the end

The waiting is hard isn't it. I think we all remember the waiting for results. You just want to know and can think of little else.
I am sorry to hear of your heavy bleeding whilst on HRT.
Where an ultrasound indicates a thickened endometrium it is normal to be put on the cancer pathway and what they are doing is to hopefully rule out any cancer being present. The only way for them to do is to do the biopsy.
A endometrium of 9.8mm is thicker than would be expected but there can be different causes for this and some are more concerning than others. Some causes may not need treatment whereas others may well need some.
There can be a big variation between hospitals while waiting for results. In my experience they seem to say around 4-6 weeks as a general guideline. My biopsy results came back at around a week after my biopsy but my post op results came back at around 3 1/2 weeks post surgery- so it can vary even within the same hospital. The length of time does not seem to have any baring on the results.
It can also depend on how you chose to have the results. I had mine by phone call which probably saved time. I did have the option of a face to face appointment. Others have had letters to come in.
The only thing that helped me was to try to keep up with normal routines and also I took lots of walks, out in nature to try to clear my head. Talking to others can help. We do have the Macmillan Support Line available from 8am-8pm every day if it would help to talk to someone.
I think the thing to remember is if there is cancer present then you have done exactly the right thing in going to the doctors as soon as you had symptoms and that for most ladies endometrial cancer is a very treatable cancer.
