I spoke to my surgeon today. He has recommended I have my ovaries removed but I'm scared to have a medical menopause.
He has also said I only need to remove them if it turns out my initial biopsies are wrong and I actually have cancer but I won't know that untill after the operation. So far I have two biopsies coming back as pre-cancerous and two years ago I had a fully clear result.
I think 1 in 3 women in my position turn out to actually have cancer. From what I've read my having pcos ups my chances of being the 1 in 3. Also keeping my ovaries means they can continue their rain of terror after all this is done increasing changes of breast and bowel cancer.
Looking for advice on the cancer bit but also really scared about a medical menopause especially if I do have cancer because the surgeon said in that case I can have her at all.
I'm single and do a job that requires and lot of brain power. I really worried about not being able to do my job, perimenopause is already making things hard.
