Hi all,

After a hysteroscopy 3 wks ago which showed a endometrium thickness of 23.7mm with a polyp measuring 36x23x28mm,I was diagnosed yesterday with aggressive womb cancer.Ive already had a double mx after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and have the BRCA1 gene,so this diagnosis wasnt unexpected.Im waiting for a date for both mri and ct scan which will be followed by hysterectomy.I fully expect to have to have chemo and radiotherapy afterwards.Im ok with it all,at the moment,I know there will be ups and downs but I just wanted to connect with others who are on this journey too.Thankyou.xx

  • Hi Faydas

    Welcome to the Womb group.

I am sorry to hear that you have had a diagnosis of endometrial cancer.

I hope that your scans can be done quickly so that you can start your treatment.

I also had a grade 3/aggressive type that was thankfully early stage. My treatment was surgery followed with chemotherapy and then radiotherapy. I remain well from the original diagnosis 3 1/2 years post treatment.

Please do let us know if there is anything you need.

    Jane

  • Hi,

I have also been diagnosed with an aggressive endometrial cancer and cancerous polyps. Had hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. Expected biopsy results this week after the team meeting. However,  Macmillan nurse phoned to tell me results not ready so will be next Wednesday now. It is all this waiting that gets us down, I think.

    Best wishes x

  • Thankyou,so good to hear when people are doing well further down the line.My ct scan is arranged for tomorrow,no mention of mri yet………..

  • The waiting is worse than the diagnosis, for me anyway, hope you get good news.x

  • Good luck for tomorrow Faydas xx

  • Yes, I totally agree. Hope you don't have to wait too long for mri and CT scan xx
