Hi dears,

My name is Lidia, and I was diagnosed with womb cancer the last Monday (08/12/2025).

I have done CT Scan and MRI for support the doctors decisions about my treatment pathway.

On the next Monday (15/12/25) Im going to a pre Assessment for total histerectomy and ovaries removing (I don't remember the name). I think the surgery will be after the Christmas.

I usually take care of my family, and now is very strange because they are trying to support me in everything.

I'm a very positive person despite of the situation. I have faith in God and I believe that everything is under His control. Obvisly I do my best. Actually my fear is related with my family and how much pressure they can support. I know probably they are more resilient than I can imagine, but it is my biggest concern.

I known womb cancer is a 'good' cancer, because usually is more curable than others. But, now I'm scared of being identified as kind of genetic disease and my sons can carry it with them.

I'm prepared to overcome this terrible time, and in the future share with you my testimony. For now I'm happy with all support on the NHS and here.

I have read a quote yesterday at the hospital. I'd like to share it with you

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate."

  • Hi Lidia, I was also diagnosed on 5th December with womb cancer - stage 1a, grade 1, ECC. I had a pre operative assessment this morning and my hysterectomy has been booked for 5th January. I’m 36 and was told only 2% of women diagnosed are under 40! It’s been a lot to process but I feel much better knowing a plan is in place. I hope you can enjoy your Christmas (if you celebrate it!). Take care, El x

  • Hello, I’m 52 and diagnosed today with stage 3C endometrial carcinoma . Totally in shock and now waiting for next steps . I’ve been told I also need a total hysterectomy and then chemo / radiotherapy it’s all so daunting and happened so suddenly plus I had no symptoms. I am in a daze as am fit & healthy but  obviously now I’m not I have cancer. I would be interested to hear from you and wish you a positive Christmas

  • Hi El,

Do you know if we should to buy a compression stockings? I'm preparing a list of questions for the assessment.

Take care of yourself. I hope you can enjoy the Christmas too.

    Lidia xx

  • I asked the same question today! The nurse said they will provide compression stockings so I wouldn’t worry buying any yourself. At the pre op assessment they checked my weight, height and blood pressure then sent me for a blood test and ECG. They also asked lots of questions about my health history - none until now! It was all very quick and efficient so try not to worry about going and take someone with you for moral support if you can. Let us know how you get on. El x

  • Hi Lidia,

thank you for this, I didn’t know . This is positive !!!.

I will give anything a go to recover faster.

  • Hi Lidia, the pre op assessment is done by general nursing staff, and they’re likely to advise you to ask your surgeon the questions when you next see him/her. Re compression stockings, you’re given them when you arrive for your op and shown how to put them on. I’d suggest asking for a second pair too as then you will have a spare pair to wear while the first pair is in the wash. (I had my hysterectomy in January 2022 btw). I also have faith in God and trusted Him to get me through it all and He did.

  • I was diagnosed with stage 3A just over a year ago. I actually found it funny on one of my post op letters, when it said I was fit and healthy, and so they were recommending radio/chemo.  Keeping active really helps with recovery and further treatment, you just need to make sure you rest as well. Good luck

  • Hi Lidia

welcome to this group. Good to hear you feel positive about tackling this, and wishing you all the best
