Hi All hope everyone is doing well. I need some advice recently had a mammogram and I have to have further test does this means that I’ve got secondary cancer after me have womb cancer I suppose it’s the waiting game again any tips how to cope
Hi Coffee19
I understand its a worry to have had one type of cancer and then to have to undergo further testing for a possible different type.
In all my time on here I have never heard of a recurrence/secondary cancer that has originated in the womb and gone to a breast. I was told that most recurrences happen at the vaginal vault and within the pelvis/lymph nodes. And this is backed up with what was checked during every check up that I had for 2 years. We are not medically trained on here though and can only talk from our own experiences.
Why not give the Support Line a call and talk to one of the nurses. The number is below and they are there until 8pm tonight.
Fingers crossed for you that it comes back clear after testing.
Jane
I was also worried about my breast - even though I'd had a clear mammogram. I had pain in that area - and wanted an ultrasound too but they said it wasn't necessary. Very worrying time for me but I do recall clearly my GP saying that breast cancer after or at the same time as endometrial cancer was 'extremely rare.'
They may be just checking-up to ensure all is well and there can be many benign reasons for breast issues. I had a benign lump that had to be removed some years ago or there can be cysts that need to be drained.
Hope you get answers soon and good wishes.
I usually have to have more tests rather than just a mammogram as I apparently have dense lumpy breasts which make it hard to see what’s there!
Thanks marmitefan59 iPhone the support line they given me some reassurance I will go for the tests and take it from there perhaps my breasts are lumpy I can go into panic mode sometimes then Brian goes into overdrive
