Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with womb cancer September 2023. I had uterus, ovaries, cervix removed October 2023. No follow on therapy as tumour only in womb lining and stage1a grade 1. Peritoneal washing was clear. I was however also diagnosed with Lynch syndrome. On Saturday ( last weekend) the thing I most dreaded happened- bleeding. I’m on patient initiated follow up and have an appointment with consultant end of June though my GP is writing a letter to see if I can be seen sooner. I don’t know what is causing the bleeding yet but I’m sure you can imagine my mindset and mood right now. I’m so glad I found this forum and the stories of women who have overcome multiple recurrences of womb cancer. Honestly after reading medical articles on the internet I’ve been thinking about how I want to be laid to rest and worrying about my husband. I know everyone’s pathway is different and I don’t even have a recurrence diagnosis at the moment but those experiences I’ve read about have at least given me sight of a potential future in the case I’m told my cancer has recurred. Thank you to all ladies who are brave enough to share their stories here. They have definitely made me feel less alone in this.
Hi GlitterQueen, so sorry to hear you have some bleeding. Hope your GP can sort out an earlier appt so you know what’s what sooner. Not saying this will be case for you, but met 3 people at chemo unit yesterday all having immunotherapy, and all in good spirits, one lady for breast cancer actually finished her 12 monthly injections yesterday and doing really well. Another lady finished her injection, aim with her to finish injections in August, but was very immediately off on a short holiday in UK yesterday evening. It gave me hope in case mine returns after my initial treatment, and it was good chatting with them, even if not same cancer.
good luck, and fingers crossed it isn’t was you are dreading
