Hi is there anyone about to have surgery, hysterectomy in the coming days ! I am due on Saturday .. stage 1a type 1 endometrial cancer
Hi Noodle doo,
I’ve just had key hole Hysterectomy 1 week ago under general anaesthetic and spinal anaesthetic as the surgeon thought the procedure might not be keyhole, I’m obviously a little a bit sore but painkillers help with that. All went well and not doing bad at all.
I’m sure you will be absolutely fine x
10 weeks post op , keyhole surgery stayed in over night due to going down after 5.00pm home by 12.00pm the next day ! Diagnosed in April with stage 1 after op and womb biopsy up graded to stage 3 grade 2 type 1 ..
Surgery went well made steady progress and recovery still get a bit of discomfort pulling aching burning sensation ! Sometimes bloating.
I was back driving at four weeks
Just take your time listen to your body take pain killers if need be ..
I did push myself to much in the first few weeks doing things I shouldn't have done lol
The twice daily blood thinning injections were the only issue for me .stomach bruised and was a bit tender..
Other wise all good i am out and about as normal and 10 days into my Radiotherapy regime.
Remember you may have small little wounds on the surface but inside you have had major surgery on the inside !!
Best Wishes for Saturday x
Thanks I hope to be to, very encouraging as I’ve been so worked up about it all x
Thanks it’s good to hear mutual others feeling ok on the otherside .. I think my brain works overtime.. so hearing you all is very positive and knowing you are not alone x
Thanks for all the info! I noticed you were staged up ! Was that a shock to you.. sounds like you’re doing well. How many rounds of radiotherapy ? Sounds a lot.
I was worried, but gave myself in gods hand. Always helps me.
About me - my story so far
Hey I’ve read your story sounds very positive thx
It Was a big shock , switched of when consultant told me , i had to ring and ask for a repeat appointment. With a Better frame of mind ! I was able to take in so much more !
I personally feel no staging should be given until after receiving your operation when they can then see under a microscope what is what ..
My oncologist is amazing!
My Radiotherapy is 25 sessions ..
23 external
2 Brakytherapy
Feeling positive..
Due to start chemotherapy four weeks after end of radiotherapy. X
