My mother has recently been diagnosed with uterine cancer and is awaiting MRI scan and biopsy results. She had a very bad night of pain. I’ve been intouch with neath and port talbot who have chased the MRI and we’ve recently been called to say it’ll be tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime she’s taken her paracetamol and ibuprofen which has helped but is still in a lot of discomfort. I’ve told her surgery but have to call back after 1. We’ve also left a message with her macmillan nurse. Just feeling very helpless seeing her in pain, can you suggest anything
Hi Tor
I am sorry to hear that your Mum has had a diagnosis of uterine cancer and is having some bad pain.
Have you heard back from the GP or Macmillan nurse yet?
How is the pain? How are her bowels?
I found a warm bath could help and hot water bottle on my tummy. Depends on where the pain is and what is causing it really.
I would suggest giving the Support Line a call and speaking to one of the nurses. I see you have posted in the Ask a Nurse section and it is fine to do that however it may be a couple of days before you get a response. The quickest way would be to call. The number is below.
