Hi Everyone,

Feeling a bit emotional and nervy tonight. I have my pre op on Friday and feel a little anxious. I had a cancerous tumour in my appendix last January. I had my appendix removed then had a right hemicolectomy to remove some of my colon. But still have suffered pain in that area and was sent for an internal scan. I was informed I had adenomyosis and fibroids. So in between waiting to see the gynaecology team, my heart decides to go AWOL, I end up in A & E with atrial fibrillation and awaiting an MRI to check my valves in heart. Then my GP diagnosis me with Fibromyalgia as I have chronic pain all over my body.Personally I think my heart and body are just stressed out by everything that has happened so far.

I'm hoping this Total Hysterectomy will take away the pain in my right side and that I'm given the all clear from any other cancer. It's been a rough year and a half and I haven't actually said that out loud to anyone yet. I'm just praying they don't find anything else, but you just know sometimes that something just isn't quite right and you know deep down you are scared for your future.

But I'll keep everything crossed, just needed to say something to someone and get it off my chest! Thank you for listening x

  • Hi and a warm welcome to our spot in the Online Community. It seems like you've had a fraught time with it all but you've come to the right place to get support. We've all been on this emotional roller coaster, some at the start, some in the middle and some got off the blooming thing altogether.

Like you say, you know something's not quite right and you just want to get it all over with. Cancer is such a sinister disease, it creeps up on you out of the blue and plants weeds in your mind. We've all had to learn to be positive and kick the little "B" in the butt!

Please come back on here anytime, ask questions, rant or simply ask someone for a virtual hug. You're not alone in this as we're all here for you! There's always someone around.

It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. You can amend or update it at any time. If you’re not sure what to write, just click on my username.

It might also be a good idea to download this booklet Understanding Womb (Endometrial) Cancer. I found it invaluable on my journey.

Click on the link I’ve created to find out more information covering diagnosis and treatments for Womb cancer.

You might also find this link to what to take in my overnight bag useful.

It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear. It's free to call on 0808 808 00 00  8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look to see what is available by Clicking here .

There is also an Ask an Expert section, but you should allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

Sending you welcoming hugs, B xx
