Hi Hatfield,
The brown discharge could be old blood. I remember being told to look out for it during my check ups.
Perhaps give the Support Line a call and ask one of the nurses.
I hope your appointment comes through quickly, in the meantime if anything changes symptom wise then I would suggest calling GP/NHS111 for advice.
Jane
Hi Hatfield,
Its good the appointment has come through and not too long to wait.
I can understand its scary but it is better to know what you are dealing with. Something is causing the bleeding, sometimes this can be due to cancer and sometimes it can be due to other reasons, but it is important to find out so that it can be treated. When I had my big bleed and was seen in hospital I was told that only 1 in 10 ladies who present with bleeding actually turn out to get a diagnosis of cancer.
If it does turn out to be cancer then early stage endometrial cancer is normally very treatable.
The brown colour may be because it is older blood- why not give the Support Line a quick call and ask one of the nurses.
Jane
