Me here again

Had a phone call from my Macmillan nurse she has had my CT scan results back and from what she can tell I’m a stage 1 to 2.  It’s all contained to my uterus but I have two enlarged lymph nodes just outside the uterus.  All my stuff has been sent to Liverpool women’s hospital and then she should hear back from them in the next two weeks with what will happen.  I feel like a weight has been lifted now I know more and that it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

  • Hi , i had my treatment at Liverpool women’s too. All i can say is that they have been incredibly supportive to me and they seem to really look after you and I felt very confident in their ability. I know others who had their treatment there and have said the same. You will soon have the plan of action sort of speak. I will say this though about the women’s every time I have been there the clinic has been running late but don’t let that bother you and still get there early for your appointment, as the reason they get behind so much at times is that they spend time with you explaining everything and helping you with forms etc. I never ever feel i am being rushed, they seem very happy to listen to you and make sure you understand everything and you can ask away questions to them and they hold their MDT meeting on Wednesday morning for clinic Wednesday afternoon. I definitely felt a huge weight lifted off my mind once a plan was put in place it sounds ironic because i was so shocked to the core about my diagnosis and was convinced it was someone else in the room being told.

Sending you a big bear hug Bear

  • Thank you everyone, its been a very stressful two weeks since I was told I had it because I assumed the worst but now feel a lot better now I know it’s not which seems strange because it’s still cancer.  I feel like I’m doing a magical mystery tour of the hospitals, had ultrasound it whiston hospital, biopsy and got told the news in st helens hospital then back to whiston for the CT scan then the women’s for surgery.  Might have to start up a hospital review site haha x
