How many of us realised that there are so many types of cancer? I used to hear people say oh she's got breast cancer or lung cancer. I never realised that there are numerous types of womb cancer for instance. I thought they would all have a similar outcome not different treatment, different prognosis etc.
Hi @Deborino. You're right, I confess I'd never heard of Endometrial cancer until I got it. As for stages and grades, I'd no idea. My husband had Brachytherapy for his localised Prostate Cancer. When I was told about my cancer I immediately thought external radiation and chemo and had neither. Brachy for me too.
I'm just grateful that scientific advances mean it's now classed as a treatable disease. Since I became a Community Champ back in January this year I didn't have a clue as to the number of cancers. I was just about to have my hysterectomy on 17th September last year - I didn't have a clue a year later I'd be trying to offer support, the best I can along with the other champs for nearly 70 cancers.
Big hugs, Barb x
