Hi all, I am 18 months post hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. Womb and ovaries removed. All went okay and I am doing okay.
do I still need to have smear tests done? All the info on the internet seems very confusing, trying to get through to my gp takes forever so I wondered what your experience is.
Thanks.
Hi I was told by my cns you don’t as cervix was removed hope this helps xx
Hi Ronamy and welcome to the Online Community. Great to hear you're doing ok 18 months after your op.
As Natalie says the cervix is also removed so no need for horrid smear tests any more.
If you've ever any more questions drop back and ask.
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. You can amend or update it at any time. If you’re not sure what to write, just click on my username.
Sending hugs, B xx
