My oncologist asked for a chest CT scan and said that it shows something on my chest as well as my womb. I've had a hysterectomy and two rounds of chemo, the second I took a reaction and the third round was cancelled as I took another reaction. I have suffered with a wheezy chest with both reactions but my chest is still wheezy. Is this normal?? My temperature is 35.8 and that seems normal to me. My oncologist wasn't worried about my temperature.

Just worried about my chest/wheezing.

They gave me chemo based on the pathology of my hysterectomy. I then had a CT scan which showed nodes (?) In my womb. They asked for a chest CT scan which showed them there too. They were going to go to radiotherapy next but as the scan showed more than they expected they have decided to do 6 chemo as opposed to the 4 they originally planned.

My question is about the tight chest and wheezing that I am currently suffering with.

  • Hi , sorry to hear about the chest and wheezing. I have to say I haven’t heard about that reaction to the chemo before, and I didn’t have chemo myself.Although our bodies all react very different. It’s reassuring that your oncologist isn’t worried about the temperature but its the chest and wheezing that your concerned about, have you spoken to your oncologist about this. What did they say? It be worth contacting the medical guys and see if they can explain why your having this and what they can do to relieve it. With the chest ct scan showing something on the chest it may well be what is causing the wheezing, but always worth double checking.

hope something can be sorted for you very soon, and you get some relief, sending you a gentle bear hug Bear.

Thank you. I have a call with my oncologist tomorrow so will ask her. Whenever I took a reaction to chemo it was tightening of my chest and wheezing along with other side effects.
