Hi everyone,
thought I was doing ok....had my hysterectomy 6 weeks ago, behaved myself....no lifting, no over doing it, didn’t even drive until yesterday. Now I think I’ve got a prolapse, I’m so fed up, so I’m seeing my GP tomorrow to get it checked out.
I’ve got some discomfort low down in my tummy & feel sore inside as if there’s something there. I’ve had no problem going to toilet, apart from the feeling I want to go all of the time.
Has anyone else had this kind of problem and what happens now?
I’m terrified that I’ve undone all the work the surgery did.
thanks, Andi
Hi newbieandi. It's good you have got an appointment with your doctor to get everything checked out. It's still early days for you and your body is very good at telling you when you have overdone it slightly. As it sounds like you have done everything by the book so I am wondering whether it may be one of two things, not that I am a medical expert. I wonder whether it may have been a bit early to drive with foot action on pedals which may have aggravated something internally . I know they say six weeks and I can't drive so cannot comment fully but everyone is different. I also wonder whether you may have picked up a water infection which is quite common and if so is easily treatable as these can cause the same symptoms. Fingers crossed your doctor will sort you out and it's something easy, not a prolapse. Try not to worry too much. Let us know when you find out. Good luck. Love lamb.xx
Thank you.
GP has confirmed I have a bladder prolapse, so need to work really hard on my pelvic floor exercises. Was hoping everything was ok, but at least I now know.

Hi Andi,
Really sorry to hear your news, but good you've seen the GP. Hope you're not too uncomfortable.
I've been worried about my pelvic floor (having been very obese in the past) and have found a book by a pelvic physiotherapist called Michelle Kenway. She also has lots of videos on YouTube, which explain how to exercise safely and build up pelvic floor strength. Her book 'Inside Out' can be ordered online.
Take care, stay safe.

Thank you, I’ve just checked you tube, I’ll give anything a try to ease this discomfort.
Sorry to hear your news but hopefully the pelvic exercises will help you get back to normal. Can you believe I was never even told to do pelvic floor exercises after my operation. Just shows how different health authorities differ in their advice. Common sense though when you think about it yourself! Take care..hope it clears up and you feel better soon. Lamb
Yes, I wasn’t given any advice either, so started to do them myself, but obviously not well enough
Hope the exercises on her YouTube channel ease your discomfort. Your experience is encouraging me to keep trying with my pelvic floor exercises and avoid risky activities like lifting weights, doing sit-ups, running, and the like.
