After months of waiting I’ve finally got my first appointment this week, I feel anxious but grateful . I was wondering what happens on the first appointment?
thank you x
Mag/Ron
Hi Margaret, I think it depends on which area/hospital trust you are in as they are all different. On my first three month check up the following happened. About a week before I was called for a trans vaginal and abdominal scan( this has continued at every check). My consultant discussed the results with me then I had a check on my abdominal scar which would not heal it you remember. Then a prod around the abdomen and finally an internal examination. They use a speculum and have a visual inspection then two fingers to feel around. They ask you how you are feeling, whether you have had any bleeding, pain of discharge and whether anything is worrying you and give you an opportunity to ask questions together with a general chit chat to find out what you are doing inlife, how you are coping etc. Then sometimes they stick you on the scales(well they do me) ! It's nothing to fear or be worried about. Are you face to face appointments or telephone? If face to face you need to wear a mask and you will be surprised at how the hospital has changed with distancing and they've removed all unnecessary furniture, leaflets etc. Good luck. Hoping your results are positive. Now hopefully this is going to post because I've been having a wee bit of trouble with this new set up! Love and hugs. Lamb.xx
thank you for your reply I’m not enjoying this new set up it’s not as easy as b4 x
its a face to face appointment I’ve had a telephone one which isn’t the same X
i really do appreciate your message
many thanks x
Hi MargaretRon,
I had much the same experience as Little lamb. I was at the dentist last week, and was amazed at how much it had changed. Surplus furniture gone, magazines gone and only me in the waiting.room. I had to pay by phone the day after and arrange future appointments then!! Be prepared for anything! They tell you what to do.
Hope I can post this. I've had an awful job just trying to log in, but it could be me!!! I'm no computer expert.
Hi MargaretRon, firstly totally normal to worry about your first check up, I actually found this the hardest because like said that it depends on your local hospital trust and their way of doing things. But it does seem very common to have an internal and feel of your abdomen and a general chit chat of any concerns you have any symptoms you need to make them aware of etc. I was supposed to have an abdominal xray on my first 3 month check up but apparently i had too much radiation to be aloud to have a scan but generally they weren’t concerned with that at the time. So best being prepared for anything it’s certainly strange now having to wear face masks and all the extra furniture out etc.
fingers crossed for you

I know when I first logged on for the first time i had to reset my password and i had a bit of weird time logging on I found i had to go the main mac site then click on online community then since then i just log as normal, just that i have to re log in after a short amount of time. We will get there and i am sure its definitely not you.

I have 2 browsers on my computer and I have found that since the upgrade and creating my new password I can only use Chrome. I can't login at all on the Microsoft Browser. I hope this changes as I share my computer and I llike to keep some activities separate from others.
