hi

I was diagnosed with grade 2 stage 3a womb cancer end of march early March I had a total abdominal hysterectomy including appendix lymph node and omentum removal vertical incision.

Started chemo May 14 had four rounds and finished Thursday July 16. I was due to start radiotherapy August 10 but I got a phoncall from my oncologist on Friday to say my CA 125 level is still too high i was so shocked i didn't ask her what it was ! It was 950 before surgery and 47 after it was tested in June and she said it was almost normal and she expected it to be normal after it was tested onThursday but its not and now I have to go for a scan.

Im so shocked .......Why has the chemo not worked? And what happens now ?

  • Hi I've just noticed you haven't had a reply to your post from a few days ago.  I am afraid I can't be of any help to you as to why the chemo might not have worked, but we are here to support you. We have all gone through different journeys and are at different stages but always here for each other.   Hopefully after you have had your scan your oncologist can give you more information.  I hope you don't have to wait too long to have it, I can imagine it must be so hard for you not knowing what is happening.

    Hugs, Lesley xx

  • Hello , so sorry to hear about your concerns about your chemo and I hope your scan can reveal what's happening. I haven't had chemo so don't have that experience but I do hope your oncologist can offer an explanation and a new treatment plan its perhaps they need to use a different chemo drug I am just don't really know sorry. However you could also ask one of our nurses online Ask a Nurse. They maybe able to offer some expertise.

So fingers crossed for you for your scan and sending you a gentle hug.
