I was first diagnosed with endometrial cancer last November . A stay in ICU with pneumonia last xmas and then covid 19 has meant waiting and worrying but im finally having my open hysterectomy on Wednesday. At first I was just relieved that it was happening and then as it’s got closer , the anxiety has kicked in. Have the complication of damage the pneumonia has done to my body and also a serious thyroid problem so I’m slightly freaking out but trying to think positively. Will just be glad when it’s all over
Dear Scotkb,
I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in February 2020 and my operation was cancelled on 2 April due to COVID19. My hysterectomy was robotic and I had it on Tuesday. Like you I was very scared but all the staff were excellent, explained everything and made me feel very safe so please try not to worry - easier said than done I know. Best of luck for Wednesday. Gina xx
Hello Scotkb,
Wow you’ve certainly had a lot to deal with, i do hope that the pneumonia that you had and the thyroid problem doesn’t complicate things too much for you. I know when you have your date for surgery it does increase the anxiety levels I know it did for me and I also just wanted this offensive thing out of me. I realise of course that your added health issues will of course increase this worry but I hope and pray for a skilled surgeon and a caring medical team supporting you during your surgery and recovery from surgery. So fingers crossed for you for Wednesday.
