Polyps

Hi Georgette I recently have had a Colonoscopy and I too thought it was possibly a 2nd recurrence for me, fortunately the diagnosis is radiation Proctitis side effect from Salvage brachy, the practitioner told me having read my notes that I had a higher radiation dose than for adjuvant. I too was experiencing stomach and rectal pains, bleeding and mucas discharge. So glad you are ok. Xx

Hello Georgette, glad to hear they were benign but no wonder you were in pain. Its surprising that although scans can be fantastic they don't always see everything as this shows. Glad you were persistent ad got answers to a lot of unknowns there.

As for the corona virus, well what can anyone say so many unknowns there lots of fear being spread about having support groups, classes cancelled until further notice and not knowing when things will get to normal. Here's sending some special thoughts to the medical proffesionals who are trying to get on top of this.

A Colonoscopy sounds more common than I thought. It is so interesting what you can find out after brachy etc.

I had a colonoscopy last year for fecal and gas issues I was having! They found and removed polyps, one of which was pre-cancerous. The procedure was fine, no pain at all just about, and 0 pain relief.

However afterwards, I ended up with a really rare complication that's left my abdomen asymmetrical.

Because of the dodgy polyps, I get to do it all again in July ish. Lucky me!

I agree about the Corona Virus things are quite difficult at the moment. People grumble about the NHS but the treatment I have had I cannot fault & they will all need a lot of energy to get through this period particularly if it should get worse. Hopefully though things will improve shortly.

Thanks Georgette, still awaiting biopsy results which I was told were to confirm diagnosis although he was pretty confident in his diagnosis as he has seen radiation Proctitis numerous times particularly with men having had brachy for prostate cancer.  I have a telephone appointment booked with my doctor so hopefully will be given the medication to control it.  Take Care xxxx

That doesn't sound to good regarding your abdomen,I hope that this does not cause any issues for you. Pleased to hear that you suffered no pain. I think the extreme pain I had was because of where the polyps were located. I do have a high pain barrier but can honestly say I have never suffered pain to this degree.

Like you I have to go in three months time for a checkup to make sure all is ok, so I will not be looking forward to that.

Hi sorry to jump on your post and good to hear your doing well now I have been getting terrible  lower pelvic pains like my womb is burning and contacting the pain is also lower left side pain radiating over pelvic bone my tummy is constantly rumbling and I get a trapped wind type pain lower pelvic area my scan showed 12.5mm thickening but no other adnexal masses seen I'm in for another hysteroscopy under general anesthesia to check the thickening I'm post menopausal although had a bleed last yr which was checked with hysteroscopy and showed an atrophic womb I've had one spot of blood in discharge since which makes me think it's a polyp  I also get alot of very watery discharge especially when the pain really kicks in can i ask what your symtoms were with the womb /fallopian cancer because I'm getting really confused and keep thinking these pains are bowel related and not womb x
