Sorry freaking out here. Had an appointment for Tuesday to remove a polyp. Operation is now cancelled and I have to go in to see the nurse on Monday instead. I know nurses can give results of biopsies so am thinking it must be bad news and they have cancelled the OP because it is not worth doing. Tried phoning hospital but everyone has gone home. I am not strong enough to go through this. Has anyone else had this please?
Hi just65

Hi just65
Thank you for reaching out it means a lot xx Went to hospital today and told biopsy results show atypical complex hyperplasia. Need to have an MRI scan to investigate further then a team will decide on the next steps. I feel awful posting on here because everyone else seems so strong and positive and I am such a wreck. Like everyone else I will have to wait and go along with whatever comes my way. Just wish I could be more like an awe inspiring, supportive woman like you. How are you feeling? xxx
Hi Lesley,
Having read a number of your posts on here I know you are having a tough time and my heart goes out to you. Just wish there was a magic want which could make us all well again xx I don't know about anyone else but part of me thinks have I done this to myself because I have not taken as good a care of myself as I could have. Madness I know but then my brain isn't thinking rationally at the moment. Stay strong hun. The fact you can support others despite your own health issues shows the beauty of your spirit and compassion. Big hugs back and thanks again xx
Hi Georgie1,
Not heard of the diagnosis you were given, but having a quick read up seems to mean a thickening of the lining of the womb which makes sense doing an MRI so they can decide what kind of treatment is best for you. Do not feel awful posting or ask anything on here, a lot of stuff does not make sense in the beginning but as you go along with treatment it will all fall into place.
I'm doing okay at the moment just struggling with tiredness but that is to be expected, so I will just go with the flow for now.
Love & Hugs xx
Hi just65
Hope this improves for you soon xx May I ask if you have had an MRI? Not sure what to expect? Big hugs x
Hi Georgie1
I've had a couple of MRI scans and they are not too bad. The machine is quite noisy though and I took my own ear plugs as well as using the ear muffs they gave me. If you tell the radiologist that you've not had one before I'm sure they'll explain everything and make you feel comfortable. Are you having a "pelvic MRI with contrast"? That's what I had and that involved lying in the machine (only up to your waist so not claustrophobic) for around 15 mins whilst they took one set of scans, and then having a contrast liquid injected into my hand before having another set of scans. So around 35 mins altogether. If you're not having contrast then it will be a bit quicker. They will give you all the info beforehand, but the main thing is not to wear any metal of any kind (so no underwired bra or piercings!). I was allowed to keep my own clothes on but some places will give you a gown. It's not painful in the slightest but just a bit difficult to lie still for so long. The MRI will give your consultant a much more detailed picture of how things look in your womb to help with the diagnosis.
Hang on in there!
xx
Thank you Rollercoaster that is really helpful. Not yet been told what type of scan hopefully will get the letter via the NHS hub tomorrow. We all have to do what is necessary to get through this don't we? Many thanks for your helpful response. Take care xx
