Hi. I’ve not posted for a while, I had my biopsy and scan nearly three weeks ago. I’ve not heard anything yet, but a letter from the consultant to my GP was copied to me. It said the following:
I do not feel that this lady has anything sinister going on after doing her biopsy but histology will confirm my findings.
My womb thickness was 5mm. I have been on HRT for seven years and only had one bleed. No pains, no more bleeding apart from the one time. I feel strangely optimistic, no news is good news and all that. Hoping it doesn’t come crashing down around me. How long should I have to wait, and does the length of time actually count for anything?
Thanks ladies
Ailsa
Hi Alisa,
it varies by area but generally people are told to expect to wait up to six weeks for results, some people's results take longer with holidays or staff shortages, etc.
The letter sounds promising, the consultants can usually get a good indication from the hysteroscopy but only ever confirm with the biopsy results.
Your gp might be able to get you a better timescale for results in your area, so that you are not jumping every time the phone or post box goes.
lots of love
