Hi I just joined this forum today as I had a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday and now I’m waiting for a hysteroscopy. These are all new to me and I’m totally freaked out by all of this . I’m usually a positive person but I’m really struggling to be at the moment . I think I’m in shock still

  • Hi there.  I hope your hysteroscopy goes well and you get a quick solution to whatever has caused your concerns.  More will be along here to add their wisdom I am sure.  Meantime, try to take it one step at a time. Waiting for tests, and then waiting for the results, is such a worrying time. Wishing you lots of luck.

  • Hi scotkb,

Lots of people pass through the site and get the all clear so try and take one step at a time, the stats say that 90% of womb biopsies are all clear.

Durning the hysteroscopy they have a look at your womb with a camera and take a sample (if they need to) which is sent to the lab, if they take a sample then it's usually a few weeks to get results back.

Ill not ramble on anymore but if you have any questions or worries then just ask, we have all been in your shoes and know how anxiety can kick in when you are waiting on a diagnosis.

    lots of love

    Hi Scotkb,

Sorry to hear you are struggling, I've had a few TVU's and 5 hysterscopy's over the past year and waiting for the results is definitely the hardest part! Not all the results are indicative of cancer - I've endometrial hyperplasia, fibroids and ovarian cysts noen of which I'd have  known about, or been able to ask for treatment for without the hysterscopy and TVU's.

That's not to say I haven't struggled to be positive either, just take some deep breaths, stay away from Dr Google and be kind to yourself. Hope your hysterscopy goes OK and am sure others can offer more help and advice if you need it, they're all super supportive on here.

    Sending you hugs
