Well. I had my surgery on Tuesday and managed to get home yesterday. I ended up having a full abdominal op. Immediately got an infection so spent three days and nights on antibiotic drips and pain relief. As predicted the 'wind' has been a major problem but my bowels are now fully operational as is the bladder. Two more days of oral antibiotics and stitch out on Tuesday. Beginning to feel more human and have just had my first shower. What a relief. I had a fantastic nursing team, and the Macmillan team held my hand each step of the way, though too many of them to remember all their names and my consultant was fabulous.
So now the anxious wait for the staging results.

Great your home , sorry to hear about your infection hopefully everything will start to settle down and good luck with final staging. Nows the time to relax as best as possible keep comfortable maybe extra cushions/ pillows will help make you more comfortable, as I found it difficult to sleep in my normal position at home so I kinda slept almost in a seated position with pillows all round to protect my stitches.
