Well. I had my surgery on Tuesday and managed to get home yesterday.  I ended up having a full abdominal op.  Immediately got an infection so spent three days and nights on antibiotic drips and pain relief.  As predicted the 'wind' has been a major problem but my bowels are now fully operational as is the bladder.  Two more days of oral antibiotics and stitch out on Tuesday.  Beginning to feel more human and have just had my first shower.  What a relief.  I had a fantastic nursing team, and the Macmillan team held my hand each step of the way, though too many of them to remember all their names and my consultant was fabulous.

So now the anxious wait for the staging results.

Thank you for all your support this far ladies, you have been so supportive.

  • Glad to hear you are back home, and your niggles sorted out. I'm sure you will go from strength to strength now.  Go easy  xxxxx

  • Hi Zigoin,

Im glad to see you through your op and back home but sorry about the complications you have had. Take is easy, even when you start to feel better and get everyone running around after you.

    Lots of love

Hi zigoin, glad your op is over and done with but sorry to hear you caught an infection. Just rest up now And take it easy..don't go bombing around because there will be a time when you wonder what all the fuss is about because you feel so well.. It takes at least twelve weeks to heal properly on the outside and a good year or so to heal internally..the bits you can't see. So enjoy this time resting and doing nice things. Big hugs coming your way. God bless. Love lamb.

  • Good to hear you’re home and feeling more human. . Hope the infection is clearing up. Waiting for the histology report is a nerve wracking time. If you can, try not to second guess anything and just take it a day at a time. Rest up and resist the urge to overdo things when you start to feel stronger. Please let us know how things go x

  • Great your home , sorry to hear about your infection hopefully everything will start to settle down and good luck with final staging. Nows the time to relax as best as possible keep comfortable maybe extra cushions/ pillows will help make you more comfortable, as I found it difficult to sleep in my normal position at home so I kinda slept almost in a seated position with pillows all round to protect my stitches.

    Sending you some gentle hugs
