Hi all. I have my first Gynecology appointment tomorrow. I have been told I need a biopsy and a hysteroscopy. I've had heavy bleeding for a fair few months and after a vaginal scan they found I had a thickened womb lining. Endrometrail hyperplasia. They originally gave me the acid tablets they worked for a couple of months then stopped working. They then prescribed noristerone 5mg which didn't work either. After 8 weeks of continuous bleeding im now anemic they have doubled the dose and put me on iron tablets also. The 10mg have worked and I have finally stopped. I'm hoping this is a good sign. The only pain I have is like a period pain. I have also had a continuous pain in my neck but I'm hoping this is just stress. I'm trying to be positive as to not stress my family out. I've had 3 people in my immediate family with Cancer. One is sadly no longer here and the other two have beaten it thankfully. I'm hoping for good results and trying to stay positive.

  • Thank you I have had indigestion and burping for the last 3 months doctor gave me laprazole which I have been taking for 3 weeks but haven't worked been in alot of pain in my throat and chest so got to go back to doctors on tuesday so I am now worring about it x

  • Hi

also suffered a tickly dry cough shortness of breath that lasted 3 weeks I went to docs for tests she said it was viral and could've been caused by stress .

Thus caused really bad throats and acid reflux.

So hopefully this will be stress related.

I tried to distress and put a mixture of Vicks on my throat and sucked throaties for 2;weeks. . I also drank hot lemon and honey tea . This seems to have worked

Hope it gets sorted for you x

  • Finally got my biopsy results back today. I rang the consultants secretary who told me they had just come in and the consultant hasn't seen them yet but can tell me it says no hyperplasia and no malignancies. She will now pass to consultant and they will be in touch. Yes this is a relief I can finally breath a sigh of relief but what else but hyperplasia can cause my womb lining to be 21mm?

    50 something

  • Ah that's fab news. Not that Im a medic but it sounds good all round.

They may offer you the Merina coil. My consultant mentioned that if my results come back fine .

    Another week for me x

  • Thank you Army. Yes definitely a relief. Before my biopsy she said it was too late for the coil they did say about scraping the womb lining so they might do that now. I'm currently on 30ng of noristerone a day to keep bleeding at bay so hopefully they'll do that and might stop them once and for all.

Fingers crossed you get good results back and they are back soon x

    50 something

  • Brilliant news 50 something when I had my hystercopy my womb lining was really thick but not sure why either x

That's good news 50something. A worry off your mind . Let's hope that if they do decide to scrape the lining out it will solve the problem once and for all.it's a mystery isn't it,the human body. A wonderful thing with all it can do yet a total worry when something breaks down. As if we didn't have enough to put up with as women but rejoice in your positive news. I feel so happy for you. God bless.x
