Hi , I haven't been on here for a while. I was diagnosed with low grade womb cancer last year and had a total hysterectomy removing tubes and ovaries . I suffered terribly with hot flushes and sweats which were almost unbearable but I have been reluctant to take HRT. I suffer from fibromyalgia and just haven't been able to bounce back since my op which was in February last year. My health has appeared to decline since January this year and due to pain and fatigue have spent most of my time in bed since January . My symptoms at the moment are chronic fatigue , irritability , terrible lower back pain and period like pain . I am urinating up to 20 times a day ( I used to go only 3 times a day). Hot sweats almost continually . I have just been for my 3 monthly check up and although the consultant said everything appeared healthy she is sending me for a CT scan . Has anybody had a recurrence a year after surgery and if so has vaginal bleeding always been a main symptom . Luckily I don't have this so I am hoping my symptoms are all fibromyalgia related .
Hello michno8
Im so sorry to read that you feel so unwell at the moment and that you’re having to spend so much time in bed. It sounds like you’ve had a difficult few months. The fear of recurrence is very real for all of us and it’s understadable that you are worried. I’m glad to hear you’re being sent for a CT scan; hopefully it will help to rule any recurrence of cancer out of the equation. I’m not a medic so can’t comnent on what might be amiss but I am sending you a gentle, sympathetic hug and every good wish that things improve very soon x
Thankyou Fairycake always here to offer kind words of support. I keep having mini meltdowns cos I feel so lousy but I know the more I stress and worry the worse my fibromyalgia symptoms get. Another bed day today, tomorrow is another day. I keep hoping I will one day wake up and feel totally normal. Hope you are well x
Hiya, I had a reoccurrence 2yrs after my stage 1a grade 2 initial cancer. I had no symptoms until I had a massive pv hemorrhage which ended in a blood transfusion. It was totally unexpected and I had no reason to believe the cancer was back. I've had radiotherapy and brachytherapy since, finishing end of Feb this year. Try not to worry lv, they will get to the bottom of it all xxx

Nicola, you say in your profile that you had a biopsy for a possible recurrence a week before the pv hemorrhage. What made them decide to do a biopsy if you had no symptoms? I hope that your cancer will never return after the radio- and brachytherapy and I wish you all the best!
Joanna
Hi Joanne, It was routine check up test and they saw what they thought was a tiny lesion. I was supposed to be being discharged to telephone follow ups that day so they gave me the once over and decided to refer me back for a biopsy to be sure. Even the consultant who did the biopsy said he thought it was nothing. The biopsy triggered the pv hemorrhage. I had no symptoms of reoccurrence prior, I felt perfectly fine and was really shocked that the cancer was back.

Nicola,
Thank you very much for your reply. Even though the hemorrhage must have been terrifying, of course the crucial thing is that your recurrence was detected!
In the same way, I am very happy that my polyp started causing me serious pain - I got so scared that I decided to have it removed, though I earlier assumed that it would not be necessary. Doctors found out that the polyp contained cancer cells. If it had not started causing really frightening symptoms, maybe I would have found out about the cancer only after it had already spread!
Have a great rest of the evening and week.
Joanna
