Hi,
I’ve just got back from having a hysteroscopy because I had some post menopausal bleeding on HRT. The ultrasound scan results said that the endometrium was thickened at 7 mm. The cavity had a heterogeneous texture and was ill -defined.
Hence the appointment for the hysteroscopy. The nurse practitioner was very dismissive of my symptoms and almost suggested it was a waste of time. It was over so quickly and to me she didn’t really spend much time looking at the inside of the uterus. Then took the biopsy. Can they really tell everything is normal in such a short about of time? I didn’t come away feeling confident about her opinion. Has anyone have an experience this this? Thank you so much for taking time to help. Xx
The consultant’s name should be on your hysteroscopy appointment letter - should say so and so’s clinic
Dear All. So I just got off the phone from the hysteroscopy clinic and she was so nice. She said the results will be 10 days and she read out the letter the Nurse has written to the GP.
im so relieved. I have a point of contact so I can ring to get the results.
Thank you You’re amazing xx
I’m really please for you that you feel a bit better. Did she say it would be a phone call?m
No she said I would get the results via the gp. Xx
Hi again Sair,
im so glad you were able to speak with someone, and you must feel easier knowing the results are to be only 10 days, and there are many more lovely, pleasant, helpful people than the dismissive one you spoke to at the start. I completely get the anxiety, the worry of endless questions flying around in our heads, everything ends in a question mark and no full stops! It’s so easy for anyone to say don’t worry, but there isn’t a switch to turn them off! But I clearly remember the advice I was given on this site by a really helpful member, was that what will be will be, once the biopsy has been sent, the results will not change, and then you can get your head clearly around the plan of action. You never know, you might get the results quicker, but don’t automatically think the worst, it just means they have received them earlier than they thought! I hope the lovely ladies on here have put your mind at rest a little, and you can relax and enjoy your weekend. Sending lots of hugs Sair, love Emm xx
Sair, just to let you know I’m thinking of you as you wait for your results. Have you been able to book a GP appointment?
Hi Marnie,
Thank you so much. So kind of you to think of me. I haven’t be able to book a gp appt but I can phone to clinic on Friday, if I don’t hear anything. Much love xxx
Hi Sair, with my GP surgery you can do an E Consult online (via their website) and they then phone you back within 24 hours with either a phone or face to face appointment. It might be worth checking to see if you could do things this way with yours.
Thank you, that's a good plan. I'll be able to do that My gp practice has a good e consult service. Xx
