Hi
This is my first post on the Website, I felt a little weird being on the Macmillan site as I don't have a Cancer diagnosis, but after reading through group posts I know I'm in the same situation as a lot of you
I'm 43 experiencing my second time having Gynae issues. The first time I was in my Mid Twenties following a abnormal smear I required Lletz for Cin 2, now I'm 8 days post Surgical Excision on the Vulva and awaiting results of Biopsy.
Its all happened relatively quickly this time from feeling a lump on my upper Thigh whilst showering to finding a fairly large white patch on my inner Labia then developing a lump near me Clitoris the size of a Pea (ISH). Appointment at GUM clinic, to GP, then on a 2 week protocol for Gynae to having the surgical procedure, Its been a little over 6 weeks so far there was Three failed appointments for various reasons throughout this time.
8 Feb 25 I went along to Day theatre for what I believed Biopsy of Three areas, I actually felt like a big baby for opting for General Aesthetic for small Biopsies but awake in incredible pain I couldn't understand how I found it so intensely painful yet others would have local anaesthetic. Of course after a general the surgeon won't discuss matters much with you as your not fully with it so left thinking I had Biopsy( punch)
The pain was as such I couldn't believe how hurt it felt and put it down to the sensitivity you can have with Fibromyalgia. When I looked at myself a few days later I was shocked to find stitches down nearly all left side of inner labia lip, stitches down half way of the right inner labia and stitches upwards on right from Perineum plus a Blister by Perineum which felt like a burn . I then knew this was not a simple Biopsy so when I started having clear fluid come from the area managed to get a appointment with the surgeon who told me fluid is ok but gave me Morphine and Antibiotics.
She wouldn't give too much away info wise just that Pathology can take a month at which point we will meet to fully discuss findings, it's it Lichen sclerosus, but looks like HPV lesions which she removed and wants to see if new tissue regrows "normally"
My vagina is really sore, I'm still having Blood and Discharge, have tore some of the stiches stitches byt tonight I'm worried as I can't be sure but it looks like there are White patches are returning already.
Hi poeticperri and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your symptoms and tests to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
