My GP thinks I have cancer of the vulva and has referred me but my appointment is in a month so outside the two week fast track. I am worried that at 75, I will be considered old for treatment as everything I read says that the younger you are, the more likelihood of success. Iam so frightened.

No you are certainly not too old at all. I was diagnosed last year at the age of 73, had a radical vulvectomy in June, which successfully removed all the cancer, fortunately I didn’t need any further treatment but need regular check ups for 5 years. I was scared stiff, not of the operation as I wanted the cancer to begone, but was scared of the after effects, I.e. keeping clean, would I need a catheter, what if this, that or the other happened. I did have a catheter for two days, but that was OK.
Take someone with you when you see the consultant and write any questions down, tell him your fears.
