Hi. Just feeling a bit low. 2 mths into Imiquimod cream treatment. Having to stop for 5weeks due to ulceration and generally unwell - for extra mammary pagets disease. Trying to be positive - but feeling run down and very uncomfortable. Has anyone found the cream helps and it goes away? My gynaecologist just says it's rare, so there are different options, but laser and operations aren't always the answer. Many thanks x
Hi Avalon and welcome to the vulva group.
I’m very sorry to read how using Imiquimod is affecting you, and how you’re feeling. I haven’t had this treatment myself, but I noticed that you hadn’t received other replies yet so I wanted to say hello and let you know your post has been read.
EMPD is quite rare, but there have been many discussions in the group about using the cream, and you can search the group by using the magnifying glass symbol at the top of the page and typing in “Imiquimod” to bring up relevant posts.
I will tag a couple of other ladies who have used the cream and talked about it before, to see if they will be able to reply and share their experience. platespinner has long term experience of EMPD and Blondi has discussed using it although not for EMPD.
You can also, if you wish, contact the support line-the number is in my signature-and talk to a nurse about any medical or treatment concerns.
I hope things will improve for you if you re start the treatment-having that ulceration must be very painful for you.
Sarah xx
