Hi all, I'm new here and have recently received a vaginal cancer diagnosis. I have a treatment planning session today and already feel nervous. I've opted for brachytherapy and my oncologist told me'll have to lay flat for 20 something hours. Any coping would be welcome

  • Hi sarahH121

How did you cope with machine delays with a full bladder? Not sure I could wait any longer than the given time without peeing myself

  • Well…many times it was absolutely impossible I have to say, and I’d need to go to the loo. Then I’d have to start drinking water again and I’d miss my actual appointment and be held up waiting for another slot. Delays were the worst thing for me because I couldn’t wait or I’d wet myself. So I’d just have to have a wee and know that I would have to be there even longer, although the staff would do their best to get me the soonest slot once my bladder was full enough again.
