Hi

I am new to this site and would like to introduce myself. I was diagnosed with CUP in August and my first round of chemo has been unsuccessful. I am currently on no treatment other than the drugs I have researched. I have an appointment with the Research Team in a couple of weeks.

I am going to NY in Dec and I'm trying to get travel insurance. My quotes are around £3k. Can anyone let me know some travel ins companies that might be cheaper than that when you have a terminal illness.

Thank you Chris

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

Could I recommend that you join the travel insurance group so that you can see which companies have been recommended. Clicking on the link I've created will take you directly there.

Once you've joined take a look through the 'Recommended Travel Insurance' thread as it's where the majority of recommendations are for travel insurance from other community members. It's usually to be found on the first page you see after joining the group.

I do hope that you can get insurance so that you can go ahead with your planned trip.

    Hi Chris,

I’ve had CUP for 11 years, no treatment, and, like you, paid high premiums for a couple of years until I found Insurancewith (search online).  They are wonderful and so understanding, used them last year when we went on a 2 week cruise to the Baltic and the premium for me and my husband was £250.  The company was founded by a woman who had cancer so she understands how difficult and soul-destroying it is to find companies willing to insure you when there is a terminal prognosis.  Do give them a try, you’re under no obligation.

    Good luck ........ Doreen
