Hi

My Journey

I was diagnosed with TNBC at the beginning of 2020, at the beginning of the first lock down.  I had chemo 4 AC every 3 weeks then Taxol/carbolplatin for 12 weeks, then two ops lumpectomy and lymph nodes, then radiotherapy then 6 months on chemo tablets Pray tone1

It has been very hard even harder due to lock down plus I also had just lost my mum months before. However I used the Scalp Cooling and I didn’t loose all my hair which has helped me tremendously as it has grown and I felt more myself and I am thankfully cured and trying hard to live as best as I can!

Hopefully it will never come back again Pray tone1

My advise to you all please stay active whilst on chemo, due to Covid and lockdown I was so afraid I didn’t go out that much, which has not helped, my legs are ok but need to walk everyday to exercise as my leg strength has been reduced, ive also put on weight, drink plenty of fluids (water with squeezed lemon to alkaline your acid in tummy after chemo) , buy manuka honey 500 to keep healthy, eat healthy, stay focused, buy corsodyl without alcohol to use for any mouth sores, I am feeling well, it is alright to have a bad day, remember know you are going to be ok once this is over - it can be done you are strong

Faith Over Fear always xxxx

  • Hi  thanks for posting your story, I love the positive attitude and definitely faith over fear - it's one of the main things that kept me sane Pray

  • My story is exactly the same bar I had bilateral mastectomy, I am so happy I have almost finished my treatment of over a year. There have been many positives strangely , you learn who your friends are and how valued you are. You raise a very important point about keeping active I have walked the dog twice a day for long walks, rode the horse 3 times a week all this helped my mental health and it means now my treatment is at a end I won’t struggle to regain my health. But the most important point is exercise helps alleviate the symptoms of chemo , radiation , surgery and mental struggles

  • I just had my diagnosis yesterday so am still utterly shell-shocked, sleepless, and wondering how I'll cope.  I'll make sure long dog walks are included. Right now I don't even know if there will be chemo before the surgery or what will happen after, until they give me a treatment plan. Glad I have found this forum.

  • Once you have the plan it becomes easier to go through, the worst thing is waiting for scan results so reach out then. Chemo now days is what is described as doable most people can carry on with life so don’t worry so much about that.
