Hi
I had just started Chemo for TNBC when my Oncologist rang to tell me a second biopsy showed possible metaplastic occurrence. He stopped my chemo and I am now booked in for an operation. The biopsy results aren't conclusive but must be fairly convincing for him to stop the chemo. I am devastated as just got used to the idea of chemo ad now have to wait for op to mark out future treatments. I would love to hear from anyone with this kind of diagnosis? Its pretty rare or had a change of treatment plan

Hi Sherrill, so sorry you are in this situation. I don't know how common this is but I doubt you re alone. It's great your team have a good eye on you and have identified any further problem areas. Whilst I'm sure it's gutting news it means your team are looking after you and although it may take a bit longer than you had hoped you will get there in the end.
Hopefully someone who has gone through similar will see your post and respond.
Wishing you all the best with your journey x
Hello V
Thanks for replying. I am sorry to hear you are in a similar position. I too am gutted and anxious. I was getting used to the Chemo. I am having a Mastectomy (probably) or lumpectomy on September 2nd. Seeing the surgeon this Thursday. Please keep in touch as will be useful to compare treatments. I was told it could be a different type of chemo and/or immunotherapy followed by Radiotherapy but other sources have suggested radiotherapy. There is a way forward. Best Wishes

Morning. There results were uncertain after the initial biopsy they said either metaplastic or sarcoma or a secondary.
They sent my biopsy results to Birmingham sarcoma unit who after 2 and ahalf weeks said it was not a sarcoma. The tumour had grown significantly during the wait. I went to see the consultant who then booked me in for a masectomy. 4 weeks ago..waited 3 plus weeks for results from that which was when they told me metaplastic.
It's taken so long, I found the lump in April but it had been present on a mammogram in February. Told me mammogram was ok!!!
I would also like to keep in touch. I will let you know what the oncologist says today.
Take care.
