HI, I am taking Vitamin C, Vitamin B and a multi vitamin to try and boost my immune system during Chemo. I have also noticed that my iron levels are low so more natural iron supplements are Floradix (from Holland & Barratt) or Spartone (liquid iron in sachets) which tastes like "Rusty nails" but is fine in orange juice are both good. The Oncology nurses have encouraged taking vitamins.
I am on my 6th week of Double Chemo (out of 12 weeks) & then i will be having a second Double course for a further 10 weeks so quite a long session of Chemo for 22 weeks (i know our plans can change though).
I am also having immune boosting soups every week, which are mainly vegetables from my friends allotment!
Ah excellent thankyou so much for that, i will look for the vitamins and supplements to help. I hope u your chemo is going ok, i will have 21 weeks of chemo so quite a long journey as you say. Good luck with your next session. Im hoping my first one will be next week x
Hi do you know what Chemo you are having next week? My first 2 are a three weekly Carboplatin and a weekly Paclataxol, so basically every third week is a double plus more pre-meds as they are called.
Good luck with your first session, i was very nervous (well still get like that) but the nurses are very good and know what they are doing, they work so hard!
Feel free to ask any questions that i can help with as i am learning fast but its been so hectic with extra tests and Chemo.
