Hi All

My name is Rosie, I'm 58, and  found a lump Christmas weekend, and acted immediately.

I have been diagnosed with a 2" HER2 neg Triple Negative Breast Cancer, lymph nodes clear, and cancer does not appeared to have spread anywhere else.

I was informed today that I will get chemotherapy then MRI scan to see if cancer shrinks prior to lumpectomy.

I am absolutely reeling from this news and have spent all afternoon sobbing.  Hubby is very, very supportive and I understand he us in shock as well.

I didn't have time to ask questions today, and my mind has been in overdrive.  I am usually very positive but this has disappeared today.

I was wondering if anyone can help me out as I am imagining the worst. Hubby is the best, but feel I need "Girl Power"

Thank you

Rosie

  • Hi Rosiexx welcome to the forum. If it's girl power you are after you have come to the right place.

Im  not surprised that you are reeling and little wonder but that happens to us all so you are not alone in that and neither is your husband but thats what we are here for.

Just fire off the questions and we can tyr our best to answer any of them that we can for you. But what they are suggesting about Chemo and doing that before surgery is very common and it has been known to shrink tumours markedly so that's good news despite how awful it must sound at the start.

Please do keep in touch and there is  a carers thread as well if hubby feels he wants to talk to others in the same position as him.

Meanwhile Im sure some hugs wouldn't go amiss so I'm sending you some huge big ones your way for now. xxxx

Thank you, Gail, really appreciate your response and kind words of support.  Just had a bubble bath, hot choc and going to bed to try to sleep as little sleep and lots of worry lasts while.  Hopefully, in the morning I will restart my positive attitude.

    Thanks again

    Rosie xx
