Clinical Trials

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a bit of a crap time of it. I was diagnosed in April 2018, I had FECT with Carboplatin, 2 x lumpectomy and then a mastectomy. Last year I had a relapse with a skin invasion. I have been treated with abraxane and Atezolizumab, which initially appeared to work, but is no longer doing the job. My cancer grows quickly, I literally feel like I can see it growing before my eyes.

I have been referred to The Sarah Cannon for a clinical trial, i'm waiting to hear from them, as is always the way the referral didn't reach them, so I have chased them up this morning. I have been rejected for a trial from The Sarah Cannon before, so I am feeling nervous the same will happen again.

The reason I am posting is I wondered if anyone else is on a trial for TNBC or what experience people have of being accepted on to the trial. How long it takes or if anyone has taken part in a trial overseas and how that works.

I am feeling a bit desperate really, I am only 42 and as much as I am trying to remain positive I don't feel like the odds are stacked in my favour.

Any advice or sharing of your experiences would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Sarah

    Hi Sarah  /

Sorry to see you back here with these new worries :-/

Fingers crossed for a positive response from Sarah Cannon - Just wanted to pass on the link to Cancer Research UK's Triple Negative Trials database that are currently recruiting.

You could have a browse through the list and see which may be suitable.

Hope this is of some help, G n' J

    Thank you

I really appreciate your help, I have looked through those, one of them is the trail at The Sarah Cannon and there is one other I think I may qualify for.

Fingers crossed I can join one and it will actually work!

    xx
