Hi All..

I just have a question..is there anyone diagnosed with triple negative who has had it all taken out with surgery and lymph nodes clear..genetics clear...just had or having radiotherapy? I ask coz I didn't except chemo as I was so poorly 17years ago when I did all this 1st time round...it's on my left side and I am practicing my breathing...has anyone had any problems with left sided radiotherapy..I know you can get long term damage as I have to the right side...I'm just curious as all I've read is everyone having chemo....goodluck to you all.xx

    Hi

Sorry to read after all this time, you are having another dance with the devil Disappointed

Noticed you had no replies as yet, so thought I would try and give you some reassurance...

Will you be having different chemo this time around, or left side radiotherapy only ?   J was a lefty; mastectomy, chemo and rads but her rads were before they started using the left side breathing technique (7 years ago)  She had 15 sessions and which didn't affect her lung or heart function at the time or at any time afterwards.

The pinpoint targetting is a lot more accurate these days compared to what you would have had 17 years back.

You may get more replies about left hand rads by posting this in the Main Breast Group Radiotherapy Discussion clickable link. When the page opens just click the 'Join This Group' button.

Nearly all Triple Neg ladies have joined both groups as the treatments are very similar and the main breast group is much more active.

Hope this is of some help for now, take care, G n' J

Hi so sorry to hear you're having to go through all this again. I am currently having left side radiotherapy, i have not been told of any risks or anything about having to breathe any different. I have only had 2 so far but as i said wasn't told of any risks.

I did have chemo to start and surgery the radiotherapy is just a mop up anything thats left. Have you been given a treatment plan yet? I'm sure chemotherapy has changed alot since you had it before, plus medication to help with side effects.

Have you mentioned to your team about your concerns, they may be able to look at your treatment and avoid chemo if they can xx
