Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with TNBC in September 2018,. I started my weekly paxi/carbo chemo on Oct 9th, followed by 3 rounds of EC. I then had my lumpectomy on the 18th March 2019. And have just had my 9th of 19 radiotherapy treatments. I am struggling, my head is all over the place, one minute I'm crying, the next I'm angry and confrontational, not like me at all! Then I'm crying again. All through my treatment I have tried to stay positive but now I feel like I'm failing! How can I get my head back in the game??
Hiya can I first welcome you to the community none of us want to be members of but under the circumstances the best place to be.
If you read my profile you have been down a similar road to me. What you have to remember is how long you have been at this, as well as how long you've been strong. It's got to get out sometimes, better out than in as my nana would say.
You are no way failing!!! You maybe just need that little bit of support for you, have you thought about ringing Macmillan? They have people you can talk to and maybe talk about things you wouldn't to family or friends. They are open 7 days a week, 8am - 8pm 0808 808 00 00 or come and off load on us.
Try not to be too hard on yourself, we may never go back to how we were before all this but we can be a better version.
This group can sometimes be really quiet so try posting in The breast cancer group it's a bit more busy than this one and there will be loads of people happy to help. You will probably find people who are or have been through the same as you.
Hi, thanks for your kind words. Feeling slightly more at peace and feel it helped me writing it all down on here. Just hanging in there only 7 more radiotherapy sessions to go and although I know it's not the end, at least it's another bit ticked off. Thanks again x

Good luck with the rest of your radiotherapy, i started mine yesterday and so far so good, any hints you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

The ScriptFan. My main thing is moisturiser, moisturiser and more moisturiser. Apparently it makes your skin supple and stops it breaking down. I use simple cream (other creams are available) morning and night and then take Aloe Vera cream with me and put it on once I come out, the Aloe Vera is soothing as it does get a tad warm. I don't know if it works in the long term but it is working at the moment, I will keep you informed!! Also don't be worried about saying if your not comfortable, I just thought it's only 20 minutes, I'll manage it, but I soon ended up with a headache as a bit of the mould was digging in the back of my neck like being at the hairdresser's. Once I said it was soon sorted.
Hope it goes well for you
