Hi,
I was told on the breast cancer forum there was one for triple negative cancer so I’ve now joined. I had my diagnosis last Thursday and have invasive ductal breast cancer grade three.
It’s not been an easy few weeks and my chemo starts 28th May. Thank you for letting me join.

Hi L.
Your very welcome.i was diagnosed with exactly the same as you..this is my 2nd time yo breast cancer I had it 17years ago...I had surgery on the 26march.wide local excision with lymph node clearanc.I had to have Genetic testing. Which came back 4days ago...clear! Is this your 1st with Cancer of the breast? I see the Oncologist this week to see about radiotherapy as I didn't want to go down the path of chemo again. You didn't mention surgery....? I wish you all the very best...we are all here for you...we're on the same road...xx
Hiya glad you found your way over here.
It seems we are a rare breed, there aren't too many of us but it is quality over quantity lol
Waiting is the worse and i found once my chemo started i felt so much better.
Chemo isn't easy but it is most definitely do able and everyone is different, so just because you read someone has a certain side effect it doesn't mean you will. What chemo is it you are having? do you know yet?

Hi folks
I'm not sure I belong here but my wife is in the same boat. She was first diagnosed a couple of years ago and underwent chemo, mastectomy and radiotherapy.
We really thought we had it beat only for it to return in her neck a few weeks ago, she has just had 10 days oral chemo and has now started radiotherapy.
The first time round was hard but we felt that she had won the fight. This time round feels harder but we have a fantastic team on her side.
We have an appointment with the oncologist this week and fingers crossed he has some good news for us but to be honest at this early stage of treatment I don't think there will be much he can tell us.
I wish you all the very best.
Hi Geordiepaws,
thank you for replying. Yes I’m having surgery after my chemo, we’ve not had cancer in our family so all this is new to me and my family.
My chemo is going to be once a week for 12 weeks then four cycles of once every three weeks, so 6 months in total, they’re not sure which op I’ll need, then radiotherapy after. We are also going to have genetic testing too as of my cancer being triple negative.
I hope your app goes well and you get to have radiotherapy. It’s so nice to chat to people who know where I’m at and how I feel.

Hi L,
I had a diagnosis of TN Grade 3 in March with surgery (Lumpectomy) in April. The chemotherapy treatment starts on 15th May with radio after that. For me the waiting for each step has been challenging as well as getting the diagnosis in the first place. Take comfort that there are people here who really understand how you feel. I wish you all the very best in beating this! M
Fingers crossed for you and your wife let us know how you get on.
There is a Family and Friends group if you feel speaking to others in a similar situation to you would help.
Hi
You are having the same treatment as me. I'm two cycles in.
I have found chemo largely OK so far. The fatigue was hard to deal with at first but I've learned to roll with it now and not get frustrated by it.
I've had no nausea or vomiting but I take all the medication the hospital offer me!
Xx
