Just wondering how long you ladies waited untill starting treatment . ? Its been 11 weeks since my doctor refereed me .They tell me they have a 12 week time frame to treat me . Im waiting for picc line to be fitted and marker to be placed although not confirmed think it will be monday i start chemo just seems a long wait from diagnosis . Im tripple negative grade 3 they think lymph nodes clear .
Hi Doris123
I waited quite a while also ..it takes time as they do they tests etc and NHS waiting list can be long. I also have grade 3 but also in my lymph node although they told me it is early stage. I also asked why it was taking so long and if waiting would make the cancer more advanced but was told it wouldn't.
I have just had first 3 months of EC and starting carbo/plax in three weeks time. I just had a scan and the tumor has shrunk so things are good so far... try not to stress xxx
Thanks for replying i have been reading the waiting is the worse part of it . I guess it because you cant but help think it may spread the longer left as it obviously grows fast as i had all clear 10mths ago . Im staying positive but i can feel myself getting impatient I am hoping they will call me this week to get picc line fitted so i can hopefully start next week . Just want to get on with it now and beat this god damm awful disease I also will be starting with 3months of EC also. Im so pleased for you that your tumour has shrunk it encouraging to hear wish u all the best in your next stage of treatment .
Hiya Doris123 from having my mammogram to my first chemo treatment i waited 9 weeks. I had a 6cm tumor in my boob and lymph node involvement.
Yesterday i was told i have so remaining signs of cancer.
Hope that puts your mind at rest, Keep positive and if you are ever worried ring your breast care nurse they will put your mind at rest or even rush it on if they think you've been left waiting too long. They really are there for YOU and will push for stuff doing for you if needs be.
Thanku if no news by end of week i will ring them but reassuring it seems to be average waiting time . Thats great news no cancer you kicked its butt
