I was DX with TNBC stage 2 grade 3 in January this yr. 1 lymph node with cancer. I had wle and additional surgery as didn't get clear margins first time. Had chemo and radiotherapy which finished about 7wks ago.
I found a sm pea size lump 2 days ago underneath scar tissue. It is superficial and moves around. Saw oncologist today and seeing breast surgeon consultant on Monday. I'm so scared the cancer has come back. Has anyone any experience of finding a lump so soon after treatment finished?
Hi
What a worry for you.
Getting it checked is all you can do for the moment.
I found a lump in my good breast whilst treatment was still going on. I was seen immediately by my consultant who did a punch biopsy there and then and it was nothing sinister. They are lumps that appear during my period. I'm use to feeling them there now.
let us know how you get on. Mondays not far away.
love

Hi Jigsaw
I had lumpectomy in my left boob and reconstruction on both in February. Finished my treatment in August. Found a lump in my right boob just on the edge of the nipple in September. It was hard and about the size of a pea. Mine moved around as well.Â
Saw my surgeon, had ultrasound and biopsy. Turned out it was a suture granulation (I think that's right) which basically is when scar tissue forms around a stitch. My surgeon said mine contained bits of stitch and fluid. I was out of my mind obviously, anyway it's gone now. I was surprised that it had appeared 7 months after surgery, but apparently it can be quite normal.
I had a lump appear on my scar a year ago, 2 years after diagnosis. Had the lump taken off and checked. Turned out it was a cyst. I think after what we have all been through, it's natural to think the worst but please try and keep some positive thoughts as there is a good chance it's nothing to worry about. Best wishes x
It's so difficult to keep calm when you're mind is all over the place.
I'm hoping they will do ultrasound on Monday xxx
Thank youÂ
I really hope you are ok Jigsaw. Thinking of you. Xxxx
Hi I've had a mammogram and ultrasound today and it's all CLEAR. The lump is nothing to worry about and is likely to be a small cyst.
I know that all our friends in this TNBC community will understand the fear of finding a lump after original surgery and the relief when you're told all is fine.
Thank you to ever who responded to my orignal post
