Hi guys, I've been reading so many good things throughout the thread.. so I'm hopeful but oh so scared!!
I have a metaplastic carcinoma 1.3cm and a high grade DCIS 7.6cm.. docs recommended 2 cycles of EC to see if it shrinks anything down.. if it does then I'll carry on with chemo and then have surgery but if it doesn't then I'll hve surgery
I'm also getting my bracken gene test done because I'm young with this rare cancer but i have no cancer of any kind run in my family! If I hve the gene mutation they're likely going to want to remove both breasts.
I also have been told ill have a PICC line.. I'm so scared if needles let alone a wire inside my veins!
Has anyone had the gene test come back positive? I have 4 kids too and would hate for them to get this because of me
I'm staying positive but I'm so scared, I don't know how to feel
Hi there,
I too am waiting for genetic test results to come back. I lost my sister to tnbc metastatic but she had other conditions which meant she couldn't have immunotherapy. I started my treatment this week and whilst I'm not metastatic I have a fear of needles and my veins are well hidden. I had a picc line fitted in preparation and honestly it's great. Yes I had a little issue which caused me some discomfort but a different dressing when I had my first chemo on Monday and it made it so much more comfortable - no needles for cannulation or for bloods being taken took so much stress off me.
