Hi everyone,
Wanted to introduce myself and say hi.
I'm a 43 year old mum of 1 and 3 fur babies.
I'm 2023 I had a blood test and scan because I had new symptoms. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism at the age of 26. The scan and blood test showed I had Hashimotos and a thyroid nodule that for 2 years I was told was benign and to stop being anxious.
I'm September 2025 I was advised that because the Nodule was over 2.5cm that I should have a biopsy, that came back as Thy3f (indeterminate). I had 2 more biopsies which showed again Thy3f.
The decision was to have hemithyroidectomy and await results. The surgery was 27th Feb, so now I'm on the awful wait of results.
Sending everyone strength and love.
P.s if I hear one more person say 'at least its the good cancer' I'm going to scream
Xx
Hi Slash26, good to meet you. Sorry you are now part of our special team but you are not alone anymore!!! I had my total thyroidectomy in December 2023 and had my third round of RAI on Monday so like you I’m in the awful waiting for results stage….again …. It always seems worse than the actual procedure!!! Wishing you good luck going forward and just like you I totally agree if I hear the good cancer quote once more I’ll scream before hitting someone sending love and hugs x
Thanks Dawnie ️
The waiting game is awful. You are so right, it is worse than the procedure. Thanks for taking the time to reach out. Xx
