Hi, not sure how I got here but as it’s near the end of the year I’m struggling with my emotions and feel like it’s all catching up with me.
My journey so far, found a lump in my neck, followed by an ultrasound, with a FNA, intermittent biopsy result, hemi thyroidectomy operation, cancer diagnosis, total thyroidectomy 4 weeks later, CT scan, countless blood tests etc!
My last operation was in September and started levothyroxine straight after, 125mg daily to start with, then dropped to 100mg mon-Friday and 125mg sat-sun as bloods showed levels were too high. I’ve been on that dose since October and am getting racing heart every morning, but the most noticeable side effect is my emotions near my menstrual cycle! Very teary and down the few days before my period and very flat and down the few days after. It seems that for 2 weeks out of 4 I’m miserable and PMS symptoms are so much worse than I’ve ever had before.
I’m curious if anyone has experienced anything similar? Do they calm down a bit? Is this my new normal (hoping not).
Any advice appreciated ️
