Hello all, I have been asked to come in and see consultant f2f to discuss thyroid fna and cnb results. Obvs im quite concerned about this and going to assume they don’t call people in to say that they are fine.
Firstly, it's good to get whatever the information is, face to face. If you think you'll be too stressed to take everything in, record the appointment. Ask questions. I'm assuming you have a mass that's been aspirated. It may be benign but may be best to whip it out anyway ( my daughter had this) If it turns out to be cancer, papillary thyroid cancer is very straightforward to deal with. I had surgery and radiotherapy within 3 months. That was 25 years ago. I had 25 years without incident.
Good luck with the appointment.
Thank you! Yes, I have some nodules and they took cells from with core needle biopsy. Ultrasound showed some calcifications and the first fan did not yield enough results. I think if it was all fine, they would have told me in a letter.
im glad that you have had 25 years without incident and I wish you many more!
