I'm new here. Just awaiting results to hear about what's happening. I've had so many tests done. It's been such a long time 5 months now. Got a feeling I know what the diagnosis is going to be but just wonder what other people's symptoms were. How do you cope with the waiting time to being diagnosed. I'm really not coping very well. Crying all the time and very scared. Feel very alone lost.

  • Its really tough, totally understand your fear. Youre are not alone. But I know you feel it, it’s quite an isolating thing to have to  go through. The best advice I had was take it hour by hour, half day at a time as it’s too overwhelming, & let yourself cry. It’s a shock.tbh I’m still feeling like you. Baby steps fe now winter girl! Baby steps xx

  • Hi winter girl

just wanted to let you know I’m still thinking of you.

  • Thank you, that you've taken the time to write means alot. This whole process has made me feel more alone than I ever thought possible. Also believe a number of things during testing etc have been handled very poorly by medical professionals.ive had my results. And they were better than I had been lead to believe, WHEN I finally got MY results as unbeknownst to me he had someone else's note Infront of him and said I need no treatment. When I questioned him he realised. So I have 2 issues 2 & 1/2 cmlump, top left neck is just a cyst but have a ' suspicious node other side on thyroid so been put forward for urgent Thyroidectomy plus removal of cyst.

  • Hi there, I totally sympathise- I had over 6 months of investigations after a thyroid mass and suspicious lymph node showed up on an unrelated MRI. Waiting for tests/ results/ appointments is tortuous.

i am now 3 years post op and ok.

just to make you laugh - I requested all my hospital notes and my pre op medical history said that I had an enlarged prostate!!!!

I now ask for copies of everything!!
